JP Medicals Recruitment is currently recruiting a Scrub Nurse for a flexible locum position in London
Main Duties & Responsibilities
Ensuring the operating theatre is set up with the necessary surgical instruments, equipment, and sterile supplies.
Conducting pre-operative checks to confirm instruments and materials are sterilized and in working order.
Assisting with patient positioning and preparation for surgery.
Providing direct support to the surgeon, passing instruments, sutures, and other necessary materials.
Anticipating the needs of the surgical team to ensure smooth operations.
Maintaining strict aseptic techniques to prevent infections.
Counting instruments and swabs to ensure nothing is left inside the patient.
Assisting in the safe transfer of patients from the operating room to recovery units.
Completing surgical records and reporting any incidents or complications.
Ensuring compliance with NHS or private hospital guidelines on infection control, health, and safety.
Collaborating with surgeons, anaesthetists, and other theatre staff to ensure effective teamwork.
Providing support and guidance to junior nurses or student nurses in the operating theatre.
Requirements
Be an NMC Registered Nurse or HCPC Registration
Minimum 6 six months of NHS or private hospital experience
Full UK driving Licence is essential
Valid Visa to work in the UK
