Main Duties & Responsibilities
Preoperative Duties includes Performing preoperative assessments alongside the surgical team, assisting with patient positioning and ensuring safety measures are followed.
Intraoperative Responsibilities Providing direct assistance to the surgeon, such as handling instruments, retracting tissues, and suturing. Ensuring clear visibility of the surgical site by using suction or other techniques. Controlling bleeding by using appropriate haemostatic techniques.
Postoperative Duties: Assisting with wound closure and applying dressings. Ensuring the safe transfer of the patient to the recovery area. Completing postoperative documentation and liaising with other healthcare professionals for patient aftercare.
Other Responsibilities: Adhering to NMC or HCPC regulations, staying up to date with surgical techniques and continuing professional development (CPD), supporting the wider surgical and perioperative team in maintaining high-quality patient care.
Requirements
NMC Registration or HCPC Registration
Minimum 6 six months NHS or Private hospital experience
Full UK driving Licence is essential
Valid Visa to work in the UK
